Domestic Incident results in charges in West Perth

Accused breached condition from first arrest and was re-arrested

One person is facing 2 charges in West Perth following a domestic incident last week.

On February 5th, just before 12:30pm Perth County OPP received a report of a domestic incident that was occuring on St. David Street in Mitchell. During the investigation, it was learned that one person had been assaulted.

The victim was not injured from the assault.

As a result a 37 year old resident of Sarnia was arrested and charged with spousal assault.

Shortly after the accused was released from custody, they breached the conditions of their release by communicating with the victim.

As a result, the accused was arrested again and charged with failure to comply with undertaking.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
