There were a couple of incidents of domestic assault in Perth County that have resulted in charges.
One person is facing charges following an incident in Perth East. Last Tuesday just after 3pm the Perth County OPP were dispatched to a report of a domestic occurrence.
During the investigation it was learned that one person had been assaulted, and their property damaged. Further investigation revealed there had bene another incident that occurred 2 weeks prior that had yet to be reported.
As a result a 40 year old of Perth East Township was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, mischief and failure to comply with an undertaking. The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The second case was reported on Friday, July 16th just after 3 pm when Perth County OPP were dispatched to a report of a domestic occurrence in Listowel. During the investigation it was learned that one person had been assaulted on two occasions, and sexually assaulted.
As a result a 61 year old of Brampton was arrested and charged with 2 counts of assault, forcible confinement, sexual assault with a weapon and assault with a weapon. The accused was released from custody and scheduled to appear in a Stratford Court at a later date to answer to the charge.
