It’s another year of Discovery Week with the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance and medical students at Western University are taking part in training at healthcare alliance sites.
For the last 27 years all first year medical students at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University have taken part in immersive one week placements in health care settings across Southwestern Ontario.
”Discovery week is a strong tradition for us at the HPHA and in Huron-Perth. We
proudly get to highlight our communities where our medical teams work and live
together. We have a chance to spotlight an amazing cohort of physicians who serve as
mentors to this impressionable bunch of first-year medical students who have not had
much clinical experience until now,” says Dr. Shanil Narayan, Regional Academic
Director, Huron Perth, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry
Until May 29th, Schulich medical students are being welcomed as temporary members of Huron and Perth Counties and getting the chance to meet patients, experience the unique health care systems and interact with colleagues.
