Direct Care for Long Term Care Residents to Increase

Additional staff to be added over the next four years in long term care homes

 

The Ontario Government is increasing the daily hours of direct care for all residents a long term care homes to an average of four hours per day.

This announcement comes just before the release of Ontario’s 2020 budget on Thursday. An additional 3,700 frontline workers will be added in the workforce. The government will add additional long term care staff over the next four years to reach their daily care goal by 2024-2025.
