Wellington County councilor, Diane Ballantyne has received the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence.
Justin Trudeau announced the countries top educators this year which celebrates outstanding educators and their dedication and commitment to their students.
Ballantyne, who recently retired has worked at Centre Wellington High School for over 23 years and was chosen as a recipient.
Warden Andy Lennox says Ballantyne is an inspirational educator has made a real difference in the lives of students she taught over 28 years, 23 of which was spent at the Centre Wellington High School.
Ballantyne says the award is a great honour to cap off a deeply rewarding career.
