Its the 202nd donation of a defibrillator by the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund.
On February 28th the board and family of Chief Paul Josling met at the Blyth Inn to donate the defibrillator.
Chief Josling was the Fire Chief for the previous Blyth Fire Department and the Chief when Dave Mounsey was a volunteer firefighter before his death.
Dave Matheson, one of the founders of the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund says having these defibrillators in the community can make a major impact in the moment of an incident.
“If the public knows there is a defibrillator close they can go ahead and get started with those emergency services before personnel arrive so its very important. The more we can get out there, the more opportunity there is to start that life saving earlier.” said Matheson.
This donation marked the start of the 2025 season which the fund says will be one of the busiest yet.
