Danielle Smith will remain as the Premier of Alberta.
Unofficial results after midnight showed Smith’s United Conservative Party elected or was leading in around 50 riding’s to hold majority control of the provinces 87 seat legislature.
Smith was tightly contested with NDP Rachel Notely who conceded and vowed to serve as leader of the Official Opposition.
Smith says her oath is to serve Albertans and will improve on the issues residents care so deeply about.
