On August 23rd at around 6am, Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a collision between a motor vehicle and a cyclist on Wellington Road 8 in Mapleton.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious but non life altering injuries. As a result, a 30 year old from Moorefield has been charged with Careless Driving.
OPP are reminding drivers to pay attention for cyclists, especially in the early hours of the morning and later when its much darker outside.
Cyclists are also reminded they must have a light on their bikes and are encouraged to wear reflective gear.
