Crime Stoppers Guelph-Wellington is holding a shredding event to continue to help identify theft awareness.
Residents can come and shred personal and confidential information such as banking info, social insurance and other key government information to be destroyed and ensure no loss of identity.
Crime Stoppers says identity theft has become the crime of the 21st century as many do not properly dispose of personal information.
The shredding event will be held Saturday October 2nd from 9am-12pm at 381 Main Street North in Mount Forest.
Proceeds from the $5 per bankers box are donated back to Guelph-Wellington Crime Stoppers.
