Crime Stoppers Continues Awareness on Human Trafficking

Local numbers of those seeking support stuns members

Crime Stoppers of Guelph-Wellington continue to work alongside Wellington County OPP and Victim Services Wellington to work on increasing awareness regarding human trafficking in Wellington County.

The partnership is better known as HTinWC. Sara Bowers-Peter, program coordinator with Crime Stoppers says just how many victims in Wellington County who need help is stunning.

“But I believe, Liz has told us that, in our area they have supported 44 victims last year. Those are just people who are coming forward saying I need help.” said Bowers-Peter.

Anyone in need of help can reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
