Cover crop funding remains available for farmers across Wellington County through the Rural Water Quality Program, administered by the Grand River Conservation Authority.
The GRCA has provided over 400 producers with financial incentives to introduce cover crops on more than 30,000 acres across the Grand River watershed.
Cover crops help reduce erosion and hold nutrients on the landscape as well as preventing runoff into local waterways.
Cover crops can improve soil health and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
More information on cover crop funding applications which can be submitted now for payment for next spring can visit their website.
