A Scarborough resident is facing a stunt driving charge following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County OPP this past weekend.
On May 8th at approximately 7:40pm a Huron County OPP officer was conducting radar patrols on Mill Road East in Brucefield when they observed a compact car travelling westbound at a high rate of speed.
A radar device was utilized to check on the speed and it was measured at a speed in excess of 150 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was subsequently charged.
A 21 year old male of Scarborough was charged with stunt driving by going 50 km/h over the limit.
The driver will now have to attend the Provincial Offences Act Court on June 15th in Goderich to answer to the charge.
In addition the driver was served an automatic 7 day license suspension and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded.
