Perth County councilor Daryl Herlick didn’t receive much support from fellow councilors to oppose the provinces stay-at-home order.
Herlick opened with a letter from the City of Brampton regarding the reopening of golf saying not having outdoor recreation and continued shutdowns are doing no good for children.
Councilor Walter McKenzie says golf isn’t the issue, its getting to golf.
“Playing golf isn’t the problem. You can be distanced and wear a mask. Its what happens when you get there and what happens after you leave.” said McKenzie
McKenzie mentioning the issues were seen when residents from Kitchener traveled to Tilsonburg to play golf when a course in the town chose to open up during the stay-at-home order.
