North Perth could be seeing a wide expansion of both housing with some commercial property in the distant future.

A report was brought forward on Monday for a large plot of land at 6175 Perth Line 86 in town which could make up 529 total dwelling units fo housing.

The report notes Perth County does not have enough supply of urban residential lands to make up for the growth of population over the next 25 years.

Some nearby residents who live on Winchester Crescent, nearby where the proposed housing would take place have raised their concerns in regards to more homes and less nearby recreation can cause issues.

“I don’t think there is enough play area in the subdivision to accommodate residents who are there right now and adding another 529 will be a big issue concerning recreation and things like that.”

Other concerns were raised by residents who live nearby who say they were told there would be no construction behind their homes over the next 10 years.

The matter is still very much in its early stages with more reports expected to council later before any immediate action takes place.
