Mapleton council could be showing some interest in supporting the 2025 Lavender Bloom Festival in town.
Stephanie Craig, Owner of Tullamore Lavender Co and a Festival Co-Host of the Lavender Bloom event requested $1050 in tourism funding to support the festival.
The funding request will be used for event marketing as well as a water station.
This year saw 715 attendees for the festival with 100 vendors and 25 performers and workshop related activities.
Craig says this event has shown its a tourist drive style with most of the traffic coming this year being from out of town.
“The majority of people who came, 85 per cent came from over 40km away. So this really is about destination and about people coming to this region. It’s a unique opportunity to showcase our beautiful communities to people who live in Hamilton, Kitchener-Waterloo, we even had 40 people rent a bus and come from Toronto.” said Craig.
Council expressed their interest in support and be part of the budget process to support the Lavender Bloom Festival set for June 21st 2025.
