Left turns heading northbound from Wellington Ave South onto Main Street East will be restricted in town. Council returned to the discussion of the Wallace One Way trial.
Left turns will be restricted from 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm Monday-Friday.
Manager of Operations, Lyndon Kowch says these hours are when traffic is most congested.
“The periods when this is most problematic and it was noted in our public meetings is the peak hours in the morning and then in the afternoons. That’s 7-9am and 4-6pm. The test within this trial is to restrict that movement.” said Kowch.
Councilor Anstett asked about where traffic instead would flow which Kowch says traffic would find its own way based on where they are going as they did not list alternate routes.
Council approved the vote 8-2 with Neil Anstett and Matt Duncan voting against the move
