The projected cost for policing in Wellington County is expected to bump the tax rate next year according the Police Services Board.
Next year’s total is going to cost $17.4 million though it is not taking into account costs which contribute to the overall police budget.
For Wellington County next year, the billing total breaks down to $428.34 for each household and commercial and industrial property.
These costs go towards covering base services, call responses, overtime and prisoner transportation.
Base services include patrols, RIDE programs as well as training and administration.
Wellington County is expected to be billed $1.38 million for police services every month.
