Drivers in Huron County may notice a new type of police officer out on the road to watch for speeders.

Last week members of the Coalition for Huron Injury Prevention (CHIP) and Huron County OPP got to see their latest way to promote safe motor speeds in high pedestrian areas.

“Constable Wes Coast” is a life size cut out of a police officer holding a speed enforcement device.

The idea simply to have drivers slow down and make the areas safer for residents, pedestrians, cyclists and other drives.
