Collision with Hydro Pole Leads to Impaired Driving Charges

A collision with a hydro pole has led to criminal charges in Huron County.

OPP, Huron East Fire and Huron County paramedics were called to the scene of a collision on April 21st.

Upon arrival emergency services found a pickup truck had collided with a hydro pole on Front Road near Hensall Road in Huron East.

The crash caused considerable damage to the truck and pole with the driver receiving serious injuries and taken to a nearby hospital.

Police investigation found the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and after a blood sample was taken at the hospital, police found 409mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood.

As a result a 43 year old Huron East resident has been charged with Dangerous Operation and Operation While Impaired.

The accused will appear in Goderich court on July 10th.
