Huron County OPP has laid charges against a resident of Thamesford following a single vehicle collision north of Brussels last night.

At approximately 8:50 pm Huron OPP officers responded to a report of a pickup truck that was in the ditch on Brussels Line near C Line Road.

Shortly thereafter police arrived on scene and spoke with the uninjured driver. While speaking with the driver the investigating officer had reason to believe the driver had consumed some alcohol so a roadside test was given to the driver and he registered a fail.

The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests.

Two samples of breath were analyzed by the Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be above the legal limit.

A 39 year old male from Thamesford has been charged with Operation while impaired – Blood alcohol concentration 80 plus and control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available and care or control of a motor vehicle with cannabis readily available.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 12 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
