A reminder from the North Perth Fire Department that Daylight Savings Time is this weekend. Clocks will be going back one hour at 2am Sunday. On top of changing your clocks, you should replace the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
Fire Chief Edward Smith says once a year, old batteries should be replaced with new batteries. Tampering with or removing batteries from your smoke or carbon monoxide alarms is against the law.
Failure to comply with the fire code can result in a $360 ticket and a fine up to $50,000.
