Centre Wellington Staff Looking to Address Emergency Response Needs

Centre Wellington staff is looking at applying for provincial funding to boost the townships emergency response needs.

Staff say the funding will support two key components including to provide automated external defibrillators in all township offices and facilities with another to ensure the towns emergency shelter has the supplies needed to run at full capacity.

A report being brought to council tonight shows the existing AED’s are reaching the end of its life cycle are a vital in the event of an emergency.

As for the shelter its also written the supplies are outdated or not enough food if the shelter needs to be activated.

The shelter supply list includes bedding, personal hygiene products, portable device charging stations and cots.
