Centre Wellington is looking to hear from the public in regards to regulate short term rentals of residential properties.
Short term rentals have been a popular option over the last few years as things such as Airbnb’s an approach to marketing accommodation online.
Several municipalities have responded, taking approaches to regulate short term rentals, often adopting approaches that relate to local conditions. Issues have risen from STR’s such as noise, parking and safety but a regulatroy approach has been able to respond to the issues.
Council has been looking into the matter, with a revised draft licensing bylaw for short term rental accommodations and bed and breakfast establishments.
