Centre Wellington is learning more about just how much it’s going to cost for their termite program.
One of two applications the township has received over the selection process found it could cost Centre Wellington around $1.4 million over the next 5 years.
Staff had previously thought the cost for a termite program would be just over 1 million and would use capital dollars and a one per cent tax increase for the program.
Termites have become a growing problem in Fergus and Elora with a 2021 survey of neighborhood found 259 properties had an active termite colony and another 219 were at risk of infestation.
