Centre Wellington discusses affordable housing with PM

Trudeau interested in 10 year housing and homelessness plan

Centre Wellington Mayor Kelly Linton informed area residents that their council meeting held this afternoon had been delayed slightly due to a zoom call they had with the Prime Minster of Canada.

Centre Wellington, Guelph and Wellington County were asked to discuss the various initiatives focused on housing with Justin Trudeau.

“He was interested to hear about our 10 year housing and homeless plan which includes eliminating chronic homelessness across Guelph and Wellington County by 2023.”

The council meeting was able to pass their agenda for the session and hold a full council meeting on the afternoon.

This follows last weeks meeting which ended abruptly after the a vote on the agenda resulting in a tie.
