Centre Wellington is applying for grant funding for improvements on the Elora Cataract Trailway.
Centre Wellington council has directed staff to seek grant funding around active transportation.
The Active Transportation Fund looks at advancing objectives of the Canada Public Transit Fund and supports projects which increase the use of active transportation relative to car travel and increase the use of public transit by supporting first and last kilometer connections to existing and planned infrastructure, Increase affordability by providing economic value to communities and providing cheaper travel options over vehicular travel as well as Support efforts to mitigate climate change and improve climate resilience by reducing road congestion and cutting air and noise pollution
Grant eligible funding could cover $390,000 to a total cost of $650,000.
