The Township of Centre Wellington is working towards advancing paid parking and parking enforcement in the area.
For the better part of the summer, paid parking was removed after an issue was brought to the township which caused in downtown Elora the paid parking system to go offline.
Township staff have since been working on paid parking options to support an effective, consistent and well managed in house service.
Staff are taking necessary steps required to bring all parking enforcement services in house, moving from an external service to a township model requires careful preparation, including establishing procedures, staffing, training and equipment.
Any future decisions for paid parking will be brought to council for consideration.
