The former Caven Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Exeter could be transformed into a boutique hotel.
South Huron council held a public meeting on July 10th on the proposed project on Main Street South to have a zoning change from a community facility to mixed use commercial with a special zone, allowing the former church to be made into a hotel.
Hillside Development who is manning the job will keep the buildings exterior church appearance and turn the interior to a 10 suite hotel each having their own cooking facilities.
Councilors will have time to consider the application at a regular council meeting.
Caven Presbyterian Church closed in June 2021 due to a drop in membership and resources.
