Cargill Poultry Plant Outbreak Closes Facility for Two Weeks

Public health believes outbreak associated with variants of concern

 

The Cargill chicken processing plant in London will be closed for at least two weeks from a COVID-19 outbreak which has affected more than 10 percent of its production workers.

Around 80 of the plants 700 workers have tested positive for the virus. Cargill is working closely with London-Middlesex Public Health throughout the outbreak which public health believes is a variant of concern associated outbreak.

An anonymous worker says they were not shocked about the high case count of the outbreak, saying workers work in very tight conditions.

The Cargill plant processes nearly 100,000 chickens per day.
