Officials for Caressant Care Nursing and Retirement home hosted an online teleconference alongside Dr. Miriam Klassen CEO, for Huron Perth Public Health and Karl Ellis, CEO of Listowel-Wingham Hospitals Alliance.
The conference was to answer questions residents have had since the start of the outbreak. Everyone at both the nursing and retirement home side will receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
The hope is in 2 months time, everyone will be vaccinated. Regarding hospital transfers, residents who have been transported will be able to return to the home once there is capacity to allow them to return safely. Residents who have been moved to hospital won’t be required to be vaccinated to return to the home.
Due to the severity of the outbreak, there is no timeline on when the outbreak will be declared over. Dr. Klassen said steps are being taken in the right direction
