Canada to Donate 10 Million Johnson and Johnson Vaccines

Canada approved the vaccine but never used one of the 10 million ordered

Canada will be donating all 10 million doses of the single dose vaccine Johnson & Johnson through the COVAX sharing alliance to help with nations struggling to maintain a vaccine supply.

Health Canada approved the vaccine back in March but it was never used in the country.

Only one shipment had actually arrived in Canada, 330,000 doses in late April but was held out of concerns of possible tainting at the facility in Baltimore.

As with all other COVID-19 vaccines received, the government has not disclosed how much they paid for the doses.
