Longtime Toronto Blue Jays broadcaster Buck Martinez has been named as the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum Jack Graney Award.
The yearly award is given to a member of the media who has made significant contributions to baseball in Canada through their work. Martinez is more than just a broadcaster, who started as a catcher with the Blue Jays in 1981 and later managed the team.
In a release Martinez says he’s honoured to receive he award joining the list of many great names of the past, many who he adds has worked with for many years.
Details on the presentation of the award in St Marys will be announced in the coming months.
