It was on this day in 2001, Bruce Power became Canada’s first private nuclear operator.
The company celebrates two decades of providing Ontario residents and businesses with the energy it needs to keep going.
Bruce Power spent their first 11 years to restarting Units 1-4, which increased the lifespan of the eight-unit site from 2018 to 2035, providing the province with 70 percent of the carbon-free energy needed to shut down coal.
To mark their anniversary, Bruce Power has donated $25,000 to Habitat for Humanity Grey-Bruce, the Canadian Mental Health Association of Grey-Bruce and Blyth Festival.
