The Bruce County Federation of Agriculture hosted recently their annual Medical student tour of a local farm operation.
The endevour has been held for the past 19 years and sees first-year students at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western spend a day on-site.
This years event saw students attend Ikendale Farms in Walkerton and tour their 400 cow milking operation. They also visited Huron Tractor in Walkerton to view farming equipment.
The Annual Tour provides real life experiences and education related to farm safety and the rural lifestyle.
It also works as a promotional tool to hopefully have the future doctors practice in rural communities.
