A half million dollar donation from the Margaret and Andrew Stephens Family Foundation of Canmore, Alberta has resulted in the renowned local theatre company naming its flagship indoor stage in their honour.

The donation of $500,000 is in addition to an earlier $250,000 donation from the Foundation to kick off the Festival’s fundraising campaign earlier this year.

Through the $750,000 donation, the Blyth Festival has decided to named its indoor stage space at Blyth Memorial Hall  “the Margaret Stephens Stage”.

A ceremony will be held to unveil a commemorative plaque in Memorial Hall’s Blyth Festival Art Gallery on August 3rd at 1pm.

Blyth Artistic Director Gil Garratt says the gift from Andrew and his family not only helps them emerge from the pandemic but allows them to plan, build and dream for the future.”
