In response to the new strain of the avian flu quickly spreading, the province has introduced a bird ban.
Participation of birds in shows, sales, swap, fairs, sports and educational displays is now prohibited.
Agriculture Minister Lisa Thompson issued the order to limit the spread of the bird flu in Ontario which was first discovered on March 21st.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has confirmed 12 outbreaks of avian influenza with two outbreaks found in Wellington County.
The ban is set to expire on May 9th.
