Perth County OPP are investigating after bark was stripped from two 80 year old maple trees in West Perth.
OPP say two trees in Mitchell had their bark stripped off causing an estimated $25,000 in damages.
Police responded to the report of mischief on Wellington Street on May 15th just before 10am. Between 5:30pm-6pm on May 12th.
Police say three unknown suspects removed the outer bark in a ring around both trees.
Removing the outer layer of bark from a tree can kill it outright and leave them exposed to insect infestation and fungal pathogens.
