There could be an increase in bagged waste fees in Wellington County heading into the summer.
A report given to the county from the Solid Waste Services Committee has staff recommending a fee increase of 50 cents for all bagged waste managed by Wellington County which includes large and small user pay garbage bags.
Its expected the increase will boost the township in 2024 and 2025 by $300,000.
The fee increase would take effect in July if approved, allowing retailers using User Pay garbage bags to adjust prices.
