Mapleton is looking to make an annual award which will honour longtime resident John Ford who passed away last year.
Council on Tuesday approved the award to Ford who worked at Drayton Freshmart who is remembered as someone who if you knew him, he would know everything about you.
The award which was also approved by his family will now see a committee be setup which will be made up of councilors, the township clerk and a member of Ford’s family.
There is hope to have the award established by next April.
