Following the success of the first clean up in May last year, the North Perth ATV Club is doing another round this spring.
Shawn Thompson, President of the North Perth ATV Club says the crew part of last years cleanup went above and beyond.
“We collected around 154 pounds of garbage and we were going to continue but our tractor trailers were full pretty much and she was a good warm that day, we were pretty exhausted.”
The crew of off-road enthusiasts continue to grow and continue their talks with the Ontario Federation of ATV Clubs (OFATV.)
With the cleanup planned on May 13th the club got municipal support with the waiving of landfill tipping fees for garbage, not only for the coming cleanup but indefinitely for future events.
Thompson says it’s great to have the support from council and know their efforts to clean up are appreciated.
“It kind of fell under the making the area look nicer, I can’t remember exactly how they put it but they definitely appreciate our efforts and stuff like that.”
The club is continuously looking for new members to join them as well as any volunteers who would be able to assist in the cleanup planned in May.
