The province is now taking in applications for the new Rural Ontario Development program.
Huron-Bruce MP and Minister of Rural Affairs, Lisa Thompson was in Clinton this morning to make the announcement aimed to support economic growth, protect jobs and improve infrastructure in small communities.
In January, the government put forward $20 million over the next two years to help rural communities to attract investment and create new jobs and opportunities for rural workers.
Thompson says with the boost she knows it’ll allow rural communities to keep thriving.
“Whether it be online webinars this summer or through 101 coaching from our regional advisors, trust we are here to help because we want rural Ontario to thrive and grow and realize its potential that we all know it has” said Thompson.
Four streams are available for funding include Economic Diversification, Competitiveness and Capacity Building, Workforce Development, Attraction and Retention, Business Development and Community Infrastructure Enhancements.
