The Avon Maitland District School Board’s Centre for Employment and Learning is now accepting applications for its free personal support worker certification program.
Launched earlier this year, the program is entering its 2nd roll out in November.
The program is open to anyone 18 and older who is going into the career of being a PSW which will run from November 7th to June 3rd.
The program comes with online and in person classes held in Stratford, Goderich and Zurich.
A co-op will be included which runs June 13th to September 16th to give students hands on training a local long term care home, adult day program, community health agency and community placement in a group home.
The free program is meant to assist with the pressures faced to local health care which has seen staffing struggles.
