A reminder that the Anderson Community Christmas Dinner is taking place on Christmas Day offering those taking part a chance to enjoy a meal and fellowship with others.
It marks the 9th year the dinner has been held, and it will be taking place at 1pm on December 25th at the Harriston Community Centre with those attending encouraged to stay and eat though take out meals are available.
Jean Anderson says what all started this was loneliness she saw happening while delivering Christmas meals with the Victorian Order of Nurses.
“We went to many homes where people were sitting by themselves either in either a small room in a facility or in a room in a big house with a placemat set for one. The loneliness just hit me really hard.”
Those wanting to volunteer to help out with prep on Christmas Eve as well as the dinner on the 25th are encouraged to contact Jean Anderson.
