The annual Anderson’s Community Christmas Dinner is approaching, offer people to enjoy a Christmas dinner to enjoy a meal and fellow company on December 25th.
The meal will take place at the Harriston Community Centre at 1pm with those encouraged to eat at the community centre but takeout meals are available as well.
Jean Anderson says what all started this was the loneliness she saw happening while delivering Christmas meals with the VON.
“Going on that visit we went to many homes where people were sitting all by themselves either in a small room in a facility or a room in a big house with a placemat set for 1. The loneliness just hit me really hard” said Anderson.
Those who are willing to volunteer and help out can do so such as with food prep on Christmas Eve as well as on the 25th are encouraged to text Jean Anderson at 519-505-5914.
