The Avon Maitland District School Board is choosing to not renew their Employment Services contract with Employment Ontario beyond March 31st 2025.
Various factors have led to this decision including increased operating costs and the desire to align resources with the boards core mandate of supporting teaching and learning.
The Adult Education of the CEL’s will stay in place as these support accessible learning opportunities.
Superintendent of Education Jane Morris says they are here to support staff who are impacted by this change as they move away from employment services.
Employment Ontario, through the Employment Services System Manager (SSM), Bruce County, will start a process to find another employment services provider for Huron County and that organization will begin service on April 1, 2025.
Throughout the next year, AMDSB will collaborate with the SSM to develop a smooth transition plan as they move towards this change.
