AMDSB Makes Changes to Volunteer Hour Requirement

Graduating students only needing 20 hours of volunteer service for the year

The Ministry of Education has made many changes for schools over the last year, many facing graduation for students and the requirements.

Students typically need 40 hours of volunteer work to be eligible for a high school diploma but with the ongoing pandemic, the Ministry lowered the amount which the Avon Maitland District School Board will follow.

The required hours has been cut in half to now only require 20 hours of volunteer work.

AMDSB announced earlier this year, they scrapped the Ontario Literacy Test for students but still intend on bringing it back for next year.
