The Avon Maitland District Schoolboard shared word earlier this week of this week, the second week in September, being Mennonite Heritage Week in Canada.
The board says Mennonite people are an integral part of the community in Huron and Perth and the week is a great opportunity to learn more about their rich and diverse history and culture.
There are approximately 59,000 Mennonites in Ontario and about 175,000 across Canada.
