The Avon Maitland District School Board has a vacancy among the trustees who have opened up an application and interview process to fill the seat.
Director of Education Graham Shantz says trustees play a vital role in overseeing the focus in the education system relating to the strategic plan.
There are nine trustees for the school board with Perth East having the vacancy but the successful candidate needs only to live in either Perth or Huron County.
The deadline to get applications in is October 17th.
