The Avon Maitland District School Board announced the return of April Smith to assume the position of Superintendent of Education as of January 9th.
She fills the role left empty with previous Superintendent Kate Creery set to retire.
In the release they say April has spent the majority of her career with the AMDSB.
She has help the positions of System Principal – Program, Secondary Principal, Secondary Vice-Principal and Secondary Teacher.
She held the position of System Principal – Program from 2016 to 2020 prior to her promotion to Superintendent in the Grand Erie District School Board.
