Mapleton Township is helping cover shortfall funding for the Alma Community Centre operations committee.

The facility was built in 2010 at a cost of $1.56 million with funding partly covered with the federal and provincial governments.

The township handles ownership of the hall and property with members of the Alma Optimist Club handling the bulk of operations which includes bookings, cleaning, maintenance and heat and electrical bills.

Net income for the operations committee was been down drastically with a net of only $2492 in 2021 and $439 in 2022.
